David Weston Merriam
1938 - 1997
Merriam, David Weston -58, of New Salem, Cumberland
County died Thursday, July 31, 1997 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born
in Spencer’s Island, he was the son of the late Capt. Sidney and Mary (Hendy)
Merriam. He was retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force after 27 years’
service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Parrsboro and of the Parrsboro
Golf Club. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He is survived by his
wife, the former Faye MacDougall; one son, Mark, New Salem. He was predeceased
by one brother, Charles. Funeral service 2 pm Sunday at the Advocate United
Church, Rev. David Chisling officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of
choice.
