Kirkpatrick, Mary L. - 44, of Nine Mile River, Hants County died Friday at home. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of Lesmere and Eva (Gavin) Kirkpatrick, Halifax. Her early education was at St. Agnes School, Halifax. She was a graduate of The Sacred Heart School of Halifax and Dalhousie University. She was a former employee with Air Canada. Mary loved gardening, sports, traveling and animals, in particular, her dog "Tosh". She was an excellent athlete and was fond of riding, and for several years was a member of the Halifax Bengal Lancers. She was a former ladies champion at the Parrsboro Golf Club. Photography was one of her many hobbies, and she was a prizewinner of amateur contests on numerous occasions. She is survived by her companion, David Pettipas; a sister Kathie, and her husband, Peter Falkenham, Lunenburg; nephews Nicholas and Andrew. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father Patrick Cosgrove officiating. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to St. Brigid's Catholic Church, the L.A. Animal Shelter or to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
