Murphy, Charlotte C. - 80, of Robie Street, Truro died Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Economy, Colchester County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian (Converse) Oatley. She was very active within the United Church in Parrsboro serving at the Loal, Presbyterial and Conference levels. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge for 62 years where she served as past president of the Rebecca Assembly and she received the Decoration of Chivalry. She is survived by step daughters, Shirley Johnson, and her husband Robert, Charlottetown; P.E.I.; Linda Glass, and her husband, Ian, Dartmouth; a sister, Clara Mellen, Maine; three nieces, Charlotte, Carol and Catherine, all of the United States. She was predeceased by her first husband, David A. Lavers; her second husband, C. Victor Murphy; a step-son, Dr. Harlan Lavers; a brother, George. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday at the St. James Presbyterian Church, Truro, Rev. Clair MacLeod and Rev. Jim Bushell officiating. A Rebecca Lodge Service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Burial in the Parrsboro Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Colchester Regional Hospital Foundation.
