Babineau, Harvey G. - 90, of Templar Street, Parrsboro died Thursday, October 4, 2001 at home. Born near Shediac, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Pierre Amedee and Margaret (Boudreau) Babineau. He lumbered for Chesley Smith and Bragg Lumber Company for many years. He later started a family farm with his son Louis (Babineau & Son) where they grew mainly strawberries, blueberries and carrots. He is survived by his wife, the former Leoni Landry; two daughters, Clara Blanchard and her husband, Joseph, Parrsboro; Diana Doubleday and her husband, Noble, Upper Tantallon; four sons, Dennis and his wife, Donna, New Prospect; Ivan and his wife, Marilyn, Dartmouth; Louis and his wife, Barbara, Parrsboro; George and his wife, Joan, Onslow; four sisters, Mrs. Marie Richard, Mrs. Helen Leblanc, both of Shediac; Mrs. Rita Martineau, Quebec; Anna Melanson and her husband, Raymond, Dupuis Corner, New Brunswick; a brother, Clarence and his wife Anna, Riverview, New Brunswick; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Edna, Adrienne; brothers, Albert, Leo, Louis, Alfred, Gerrard, Camile. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father Gaetan Banyog-enne officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Brigid's Catholic Church or to a charity of choice.
