1912 - 2002

Hatfield, Frank Maurice - 89, of Fraserville, Cumberland County was welcomed into the presence of his Lord on Good Friday morning, March 29, 2002. Born in Brookville on July 6, 1912, he was the eldest son of the late Leslie and Etta (Pettis) Hatfield. He lived his entire life in Fraserville working in the lumbering industry. A man of wide interests, he was an avid gardener, enjoyed carpentry work and followed current events closely in the daily newspaper. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Edith Allen; daughters, Carol (William) Freeman, Lower Sackville; Millie (Brian) Johnston, Truro; sons, Stuart (Marie), Fraserville; Aurdon (Maureen), Sackville, N.B.; Rev. Maurice (Violet), Shelburne; a brother, Glendon (Verna), Amherst; grandchildren, Faith (Justin) Desharnais, St. Pierre, Manitoba; Leslie James (Carman) Hatfield, Cap Pele, N.B.; Timothy (Kathleen) Freeman, Carman, Manitoba; Samuel Freeman, St. Pierre, Manitoba; Jordan Hatfield, Shelburne; 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Maurita; a brother, Johnson; sister in law, Ferne (Knowlton) Hatfield. Visitation 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Saturday at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Advocate Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Vance Arbeau and Rev. Jack Palmer officiating. Burial in the Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Advocate Baptist Church or to a charity of choice.
