MacIntosh, G. Harland – 78, of Meeting House Rd., Central Onslow and Parrsboro passed away Saturday, November 1, 2003 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Truro, he was the son of the late Dr. George P. and Dorothy E. (Merriam) MacIntosh. He was a veteran of World War II serving on the RCN Frigate, New Waterford from 1943 to 1945. He later operated MacIntosh Motors automotive dealership in Parrsboro and was a Newfoundland sales representative for Kerr Controls retiring in 1981. He was a lay reader in St. George’s Anglican Church, Bible Hill for many years. He was Past Master of Minas Lodge #67, Parrsboro and was Past Grand Steward of Grand Lodge of Nova Scotia. He is survived by his wife, the former Grace Dunlop; a son, Leigh (Ruth); granddaughter, Marie, all of Moncton; sisters, Kathryn Keddy, Truro; Marjorie Seward (Errol), Ottawa; several nieces and nephews. A Masonic Service will be held 7 p.m. this evening (Monday) at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, followed by visitation until 9 p.m. Funeral service 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Mark Pretty and Archdeacon Brian Spence officiating, followed by a reception in St. George’s Church Hall, Parrsboro. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the V.O.N. or to a charity of choice. |
