Tibbetts, Richard A. – 57, of Diligent River, Cumberland County passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at the home of his sister in Fox River. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was the son of the late Leo and Margaret (Smithies) Tibbetts. He is survived by his first wife, Valerie (Frank Smith), Diligent River; a daughter, Kelly, Truro; a son, Jeremy, Halifax; sisters, Pauline (Bernard) Spence, Harrison Settlement; Mary Lou (Blair) Leighton, Hilden; Sheila (Tim) Buckle, London, England; Pam (Sidney) Boyde, Fox River; Judy (Ronald) Allen, Diligent River; several nieces and nephews; an uncle, Charley Tibbetts, Ward’s Brook. He was predeceased by a brother, Harlan. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. Burial in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Diligent River at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care of South Cumberland Community Care Centre.
