Roberts, Michael Douglas – 41, of Two Islands Road, Parrsboro passed away Thursday, August 12, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Parrsboro, he was the son of Wendy (Hurrie) Roberts, Parrsboro and the late Douglas Roberts. He was a construction worker having been employed with Dillman and Dexter Construction for many years. He is survived by a son, Jeffery, Truro; sisters, Sherry Roberts (Doug Trenholm), Truro; Pat Welton (Mike), New Prospect; Barb Tennant (Brian), Parrsboro; brother, Ronnie, Moose River; maternal grandmother, Aileen Wiita, Parrsboro; nieces and nephews, Christopher Harrison; Cody, Luke and Ethan Welton; Tylor and Madison Tennant; Ally Roberts; great-nephew, Chase Harrison. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Friday (August 13, 2004) at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 4 p.m. Saturday at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Mark Pretty officiating. Burial in St. Mark’s Cemetery, Moose River. Memorial donations may be made to the I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation, Halifax or to Palliative Care of South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro.
