Barnes, Ruth W. - 62, of Parrsboro, Cumberland County passed away suddenly Sunday, August 29, 2004 at Five Islands. Born in Parrsboro, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Doris (Allen) Fields. She is survived by a daughter, Crystal, Moncton; sisters, Jewell Melanson (James) and Lillian Hamel, all of Springhill; Norma Hamel, Parrsboro; brothers, Lewis and David, both of Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Elmer. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Burial in the Parrsboro Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or to a charity of choice.
