Stronge-Meekins, Joshua S.K. – 5, of Lynn Road, Lower Five Islands passed away suddenly Saturday, May 21, 2005 as the result of a boating accident. Born in Amherst, he was the son of Norman Meekins (Sheila), Parrsboro and Nicole Stronge (Scott Gallagher), Lower Five Islands. He is survived by maternal grandparents, Stephan and Nancy (Butler) Stronge, Advocate; maternal great grandmother, Elizabeth Stronge, Spencer’s Island; paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Belinda (Pettigrew) Meekins, Lower Five Islands; paternal great grandmother, Elaine Pettigrew, Springhill; paternal great-great grandmother, Flostina Meekins, Parrsboro; half brother, Nathan MacAleese; step-sister, Emma Durant; step-brother, Devon Durant; aunts, Kimberley Stronge (Scott), Fredericton and Tanya Stronge, Truro; Melynda Meekins (Raymond Gilbert), Five Islands; uncle, Nicholas Meekins, Five Islands. Visitation 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Rev. Jean Simms-Mills and Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Burial in the Lower Five Islands Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Make a Wish Foundation or the Canadian Coast Guard Water Safety Unit.
