Oswald J. Cormier
Cormier, Oswald J. - 59, of Five Islands, Colchester County passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cap Pele, New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Fred and Annie (Leblanc) Cormier. He owned and operated with his family Cormier’s Five Island Clam Factory for 30 years and Diane’s Restaurant in Five Islands for more than 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, attending the casino, his cottage, NASCAR racing, watching his favorite hockey team (the Montreal Canadiens), his dog and faithful companion (Dodie) but most of all his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, the former Diane Awalt; daughters, Angie Davis (Robbie), Five Islands; Lisa White (David), Lower Five Islands; sons, Jerry (Kelly), Five Islands; Wayne (Tammi), Diligent River; sisters, Anita Cormier, Cap Pele; Delima Maillet (Alphonse), Oromocto; Corinne Goguen (Albert), Five Islands; Florence Bourque (Romuald), Cap Pele; Rose Anne Waite, Chamcook, NB; Premilia Doiron (Ovila), Cap Pele, NB; Leona Goguen (Leonce), Cap Pele; Francine Cormier (Ronald), Five Islands; Dorilla Brun (Rheal), Barachois, NB; brothers, Alcide (Rita), Shediac; Alfred (Maria), Barachois; Alonzo (Elizabeth), Five Islands; Emerie (Jean), Five Islands; 12 grandchildren, Krystle, Brandon, Ashley, Chelsi, Evan, Bailee, Robert, Brittany, Karlee, Morgan, Jasmen, Jordyn; 2 great grandchildren, Madison and Aiden; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Victorine; a brother, Leo. Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2005 at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father David MacDonald officiating. Burial in the St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Colchester VON. |
