Eric R. Rafuse
RAFUSE, Eric R. - 70, West Advocate, Cumberland County passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006, in South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Rufus and Marjorie (Morris) Rafuse. Early in his life, he worked in the copper mines in Gaspé, Que. He was later employed with Scott Paper in Parrsboro for more than 30 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Eric was known for his quiet, gentle nature, as well as his smile and open door to all. To his children, he was a beloved dad whose strength, kindness and love will live on forever in their hearts. He is survived by his special friend, Ella Perrin, Parrsboro; daughters, Debbie MacGillivary (Carvel), Lower Sackville; Dora Morris (Darrell Geddes), Waverley; son, David (Bonnie Bennett), East Advocate; sisters, Delma Morris (Wesley Spicer), Halfway River; Helena Stronge (John), Truro; brothers, Norman (Jill), Parrsboro; Owen (Bev), Parrsboro; Edwin (Frances), Advocate Harbour; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorna (MacAloney); son, Larry; sister, Laura in infancy; brother, Lawrence. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday [September 3, 2006] in Advocate Baptist Church, Rev. Donald Hirtle officiating. Burial in Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to South Cumberland Community Care Centre (Palliative Care), Parrsboro, or Canadian Cancer Society. |
