Thompson, George C. – 78, of Lower Five Islands, and formerly of Economy and Toronto passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at home. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Leonard and Beulah Thompson. He is survived by his wife, the former Ruth Annand; daughters Denise DeGrace (Maurice), Whitby, Ont.; Janet Totten, Lower Sackville; a sister, Eva Crocker (Richard), Halifax; brothers, James, Toronto; Donald (Joan), Pickering, Ont.; grandchildren, Meghan DeGrace; Brooke and Alexander Totten; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marguerite Welch. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the Economy United Church, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (November 15, 2006), Rev. Florence Antle-Brison and Capt. Sean Furey officiating. Burial in the Economy Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
