RIPLEY, Garfield H. - 91, of Lakelands, Cumberland
Co., passed away Monday, January 29, 2007, in Cumberland Regional Health Care
Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Brookdale, he was a son of the late Charles and
Minnie (Perry) Ripley. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with
the navy. He was a retired lumberman and farmer. He is survived by his wife, the
former Eva Smith; daughters, Margaret Nicol (Robert), Cold Lake, Alta.; Meredith
Brown (Bill), Halifax; Jacqueline Sexton, St. Catharine's, Ont.; Joan Fife
(Angus), Lakelands; Rosalie Pettigrew (Hughie), Lakelands; sons, Dennis,
Bridgetown; David (P.J.), Lakelands; Albert (Barb), Lakelands; sisters, Jean
Marney, Truro; Evelyn Smith, South Athol; brothers, Clayton (Hilda), Sackville,
N.B.; Russell (Jessie), Amherst; half-sisters, June Kozlenko (Doug Nelson),
Whitby, Ont.; Shirley Nelson (Owen), Brookdale; half-brother, Winston Ripley
(Joan), Brookdale; daughter-in-law, Diane Ripley, Lakelands; son-in-law, Lloyd
Sexton, St. Catherine’s, Ont.; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Herbert; sister, Muriel;
brothers, Lawrence, Raymond. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today in Smith’s Funeral Home,
Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday (February 1, 2007) in Trinity United Church,
Parrsboro, Rev. Sandra Riddell officiating. Burial in Parrsboro United Cemetery.
