Eagles, Berton R. – 69, of Five Islands,
Colchester County passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at Colchester Regional
Hospital, Truro. Born in Lower Five Islands, he was a son of the late Hilbert
and Iris (Davis) Eagles. He worked with Lindsay Construction for many years. He
is survived by his wife, the former Flora Dowe; daughters, Shelley Eagles, Five
Islands; Frances Hudson (Keith Cameron), Truro; sons, Sheldon, Five Islands;
Jeff (Tracy Parker), Five Islands; Elson Lewis (Eleanor), Beaverbank; sisters,
Ruth Power (Roland), Five Islands; Martha Webb (Gary), Five Islands; brothers,
Clayton (Marie), Five Islands; Leslie (Faye Currie), Five Islands; Morton
(Joyce), Economy; Aubrey (Irene), Lower Five Islands; Royden (Patsy), Lower Five
Islands; 8 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He
was predeceased by a sister, Shirley; brothers, Grant, Merle, Billy. Funeral
service will be held 2 p.m. Friday (April 6, 2007) at Peniel United Church, Five
Islands, Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Burial in the Lower Five
Islands Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
