Ellis, C. Murray – 82, of Lower Five Islands, Colchester County passed away Friday, April 6, 2007 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Canning, he was a son of the late C. Lorne and Gladys (Rogers) Ellis. He was employed with the Dominion Chair Factory for many years, but will be most remembered for his work as a farmer. He is survived by step-daughters, Linda Goodrich, Dartmouth; Dennise Miller (Glenn), Londonderry; step-sons, James Callighan (Janet), Wainright, AB; Robert Lattie (Debbie), Five Islands; sisters, Mildred Adams, Toronto; Dorothy Henwood, Amherst; Eva Lynds, Lower Five Islands; brother, Ralph (Gail), Lower Five Islands; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary; a brother, Victor. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Sunday (April 8, 2007) at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 3 p.m. Monday (April 9, 2007) at the Peniel United Church, Five Islands, Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Burial in the Five Islands Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
