1957 - 2007

YORKE, Randy L. – 50, of Brampton, Ontario, and formerly of Parrsboro passed peacefully into God’s hands at William Osler Health Centre, Brampton, Ontario, surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted family man and athlete. He took pride in his work ethic and service to others. Born in Parrsboro, he was the son of the late Donald and Cora (Barkhouse) Yorke. He lived in Parrsboro until the age of 25 and lived his remaining life in Brampton, Ontario where he worked at Chrysler Canada. He was educated at Devry Institute of Technology in Computer Science. He volunteered as a member of the Don Yorke Memorial Tournament for 22 years. He was active in sports and was a softball coach. He is survived by his ten brothers and sisters, Donna (Yorke) Richard, Robert Yorke (Colleen), Karla (Yorke) Fulton (Albert), Neil Yorke (Sharon), Karen Yorke-Gilbert (Bill), of Parrsboro; Terry Yorke of Halifax; Don Yorke Jr. (Pat), Carolyn (Yorke) Houston (Bob), of Hamilton; Bruce Yorke (Cindy), Lorna Yorke (Wally), of Mississauga; brother in law, Ray Booker; special niece, Brittney and loyal four legged companion, Ginger; numerous nephews and nieces and friend Sandy. He was predeceased by sister, Sharon (Yorke) Booker; brother, Michael; nephew, Ronny Richard; special family friend, Harry Connell. Visitation 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday (November 27, 2007) at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday (November 27, 2007) at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Frank Likely officiating. Burial in the Parrsboro United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of choice.
