1905 - 2009

         

FULLERTON, C. Mae – 104, of Halfway River, Cumberland Co. passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in River Philip, she was a daughter of the late George and Lillian (Blair) King. Mae was a graduate of Truro Normal College in 1923. She taught school in Gaspereau, Halfway River and Lakelands. She was a long serving member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Women’s Institute. She is survived by daughters, Shirley Huculak, Maple Creek, Sask.; Olive, Toronto, Ont.; Enid Cooper, Great Village; sons, Doug (Oena), Amherst; Thane (Marilyn), Harrison Settlement; Cameron (Anne), Halfway River; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold; five sisters; eight brothers. Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday [November 10, 2009] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday [November 11, 2009] at the Parrsboro Baptist Church, Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Reception to follow in church vestry. Burial in the Halfway River Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
