Wyman M. Ayer
AYER, Wyman M. “Jim” - 90, of Halfway River, Cumberland County passed away Sunday, January 31, 2010 at Highcrest Nursing Home, Springhill surrounded by his family. Born in Ward’s Brook, he was a son of the late Colby and Margaret (McClelland) Ayer. He was employed with Hanna Farms for many years, and later worked as a night watchman for C.E. Harrison and Son, Halfway River. He is survived by sons, Harold (Margaret), Lakelands; Earl (Ada), Fenwick; Loman (Mary), Shelburne; a daughter, Margie Milton (Marven), Hillsborough, N.B.; sisters, Cecelia Chambers, Parrsboro; Rose Pritchard, Blue Rocks, Lunenburg Co.; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 5 great great-granddaughters. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mabel Henwood; a son, Glenn; two sisters in infancy. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today (Tuesday, February 2, 2010) at Smiths Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday (February 3, 2010), Rev. Greg Doyle officiating. Burial in Halfway River Union Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
