Estella B.M. Levy
"Sally"
1938 - 2012

Levy, Estella B.M. “Sally” – 74, of Parrsboro. After arriving back from a joyous time sailing the high seas at Berwick Camp this past week, Sally passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August, 8, 2012 at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Upper Nappan surrounded by her family. Married to Ron for 56 years, they were the proud parents of Louanne Henwood (Eric), Michael Levy (Timi), Glenn Levy, Debbi Kay (Jeff), Krista Odlin (Keith) and Lana Yorke (Justin); 14 grandchildren, Gregory (Sarah), Katherine, Andrea, Megan, Jennifer, Brian, Anita, Joshua, Mattia (Trevor), Matthew, Alexander, Rhianna, Iain, and Sadie. Born in Millvale, Sally was the daughter of Layton and Lila (Stevens) Stonehouse, and big sister to Frederick and Bertie Stonehouse, all predeceased. Prior to moving to Parrsboro while raising her family, she was a Tawny Owl and Cub Mother, sold Tupperware and Avon, and was the proud owner of a Batmobile. After settling in Parrsboro, she and her husband owned The Ron and Sally Shop, Driftwood Cove Flower Shop, and at the age of 50 went back to school and began a nursing career. Sally has been an active member of the United Church, Beta Sigma Phi; and Tim’s morning coffee gals. She was a past board member, volunteer and Lifetime Member of the Ship’s Company Theatre. During her years in Parrsboro, she was also a member of the Parrsboro Lioness Club (their first president), the Parrsboro Citizen’s Band Association (past president), garden club, book club, bridge club, TOPS and the UCW. An avid reader, crafter, scrap-booker, lover of music, travel, theatre, entertaining and gardening; Sally was a great collector, decorator, and a family woman. She loved flowers and the garden, the snow, Christmas and winter. She dressed like a queen and always sparkled; she never had enough shoes. As busy as she was, Sally always made time for Sunday dinners with her family, a tradition of more than 25 years and a legacy that will continue. Family meant everything to her. She will be sadly missed. Visitation 6-8 p.m. Friday [August 10, 2012] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
