Cole, Walton L. - Age 88, of New Minas, and
formerly of Advocate Harbour passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at the Grand
View Manor, Berwick. Born in Advocate Harbour, he was a son of the late Clarence
and Mary (Rector) Cole. He is survived by his wife, the former Gladys Wasson;
daughters, Brenda Burchell, Bedford; Amy Melanson, Salt Spring Island, B.C.;
sister, Berna Robinson, Halifax; brother, Richard (Hazel), Advocate Harbour; 5
grandchildren, Jessica Burchell, Steven Melanson (Nicole), David Melanson, Jimmy
Melanson, Nikki Melanson; 2 great-grandsons, Keiran, Cael; several nieces and
nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Joyce; a brother, Alfred. Visitation
1-2 p.m. on Tuesday [September 30, 2014] at the Advocate Baptist Church, where
funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Rev. Emmanuel Mutale officiating. Burial
to follow in the Advocate Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the
Canadian Cancer Society.
