Joyce A. Nuttall

Nuttall, Joyce A. – Age 72, of New Salem, and formerly of Moncton passed away Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Leon and Martha (Richards) Hawkes. Joyce was a graduate of Amherst Regional High School, and later graduated with honors from the Saint Charles Commercial School in 1960. She began her career as a legal secretary in Amherst, later moving to Moncton in 1962 where she continued her career for 33 years with Scobie Law. Besides being an avid gardener, she enjoyed picking berries, travelling (especially cruising), as well as making homemade pickles, jams and jellies. She is survived by her husband, Harold; a daughter, Michele McSherry (Steve), Oshawa, Ont.; a son, Darren Soucoup (Sherry), Portage Vale, N.B.; a step-daughter, Cheryl Phinney (Tim), Apple River; step-sons, Hal (Rita), Spencer's Island; Bill (Michelle), Advocate Harbour; a brother, Douglas Hawkes (Beatrice), Amherst Head; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Wayne Soucoup; a sister, Maureen; a brother, Robert. Visitation will be held 11 am to 1 pm on Friday [May 15, 2015] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will follow at 1 pm, Pastor Douglas Lake officiating. Burial in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens, Moncton. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
