Harvey, Malcolm A. – 88, of Parrsboro passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Corey E. and Ella (Jenks) Harvey. Malcolm will be remembered for his kindness, good natured humour and dedication to family and friends. After moving to Toronto in 1949, he married his childhood sweetheart and raised his family and lived with traditional maritime values. Malcolm worked at GTE Sylvania until his retirement in 1988 and returned home to Parrsboro enjoying the many summers spent with family and friends, in particular his memorable birthday celebrations. He is survived by loving children, Geoffrey (Valerie), Toronto; Kevin (Monika), Port Greville; Craig, Barrie, Ont.; Alex (Margaret), Toronto; Melissa Hood (Ron), Cambridge, Ont.; cherished grandchildren, Erin, Mackenzie, Corey, Kyle, Nicholas, Alyssa, Jessica, Melanie, Jenna, Josh, Liam, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Aidan, Abigail, Wynn, Miles; many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, the former Claudina “Tod” Durant; a brother, Ralph; two brothers in infancy. Funeral service will be held Monday, June 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Keith Selwyn-Smith, DLM officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the South Cumberland Community Care Centre Foundation.
