Joseph F. Morrissey
1963 - 2016

Morrissey, Joseph F. - Age 53, of Truro, and formerly of Parrsboro. It is
with great sadness and regret that the family of Joe Morrissey announce his
passing on October 14, 2016 at the Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.
Born in Parrsboro, Joe was the son of Geraldine Morrissey and the late Glen
Morrissey. Joe graduated from Parrsboro Regional High School, after which he
continued his training to complete a brick laying course in Truro. He was
employed with the Home Hardware Distribution Center in Debert for several years,
and later worked at the Air Force Club in Truro. During his teenage years, Joe
had a metallic blue El Camino that was his pride and joy. He always had a
special interest in vintage cars, and owned corvettes and mustangs throughout
the years. Joe loved boating, traveling, playing guitar and spending time with
his friends. He had the greatest 'wit' ever. Joe would come out with one-liners
about any topic in conversation, and could imitate comical behaviors of others
effortlessly, keeping his friends and family entertained and laughing. You would
often see Joe driving his truck with his dog, Marley, sitting beside him. He is
survived by his wife, the former Tanya Ward, Truro; his mother, Geraldine
Morrissey and sister, Glenda Morrissey, both of Highland Village. A graveside
committal service will take place at St. Brigid’s Catholic Cemetery in
Parrsboro.
An 'Remembrance Of Life' celebration will take
place from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Fundy Geological Museum
in the reception room. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society.
Our world will never be the same without Joe,
and he will be forever missed.
