Merriam, Shelley B. – Age 52, of Parrsboro, and formerly of Halifax and Spencer’s Island passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of Winnie (McLeod) Merriam, Parrsboro and the late Ratchford Merriam. Shelley was a lover of all animals. She will be sadly missed by Teddy and Spencer. Besides her mom, she is survived by brothers, Brian (Maria), Halifax; Brent (Debbie), Diligent River; nieces, Laura, Halifax and Sarah, Diligent River; nephew, Matthew, Halifax; aunts, Thelma Traill (Jim), Amherst Shore; Pat Merriam (Barry Small), Costa Rica; Beryl Rowe, Parrsboro; Marjorie Crossman, Diligent River; Darlene Spicer (Jack), Bedford; and numerous cousins. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Pastor Douglas Lake officiating. Reception to follow at the St. George's Hall, on Church Street, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK Health Centre Foundation, Halifax.
