Mills, Maureen S. – Age 74, of Spencer’s Island passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John and Kathleen (Lake) Yorke. She is survived by daughters, Rosemary Mills (Brian Boye), Halifax; Christine Mills (Ricky Slocum), Portapique; Sunday Mills (Bruce Morris), Fraserville; Karen Mills (Shannon Dwyer), Nappan; Jane Mills, Advocate Harbour; sons, William, North River; Edwin Mills (Kim Drysdale), Apple River; 15 grandchildren; a great grandson; sisters, Mary Yorke, Maccan; Christine, Pugwash; a brother, Robert (Maureen), Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Hiram William Mills "Billy"; sisters, Sally Ann; a brother, Lewis. There will be no funeral service at Maureen’s request. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
