McAleese, Daniel C. – Age 77, of Amherst and formerly of Parrsboro passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Upper Nappan. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Donald and Dorothy (Falkenham) McAleese. He is survived by his wife, the former Virginia Burke; daughters, Angela O’Brien (Gary), Cardigan, PEI; Cathy McAleese (Jamie Grant), Amherst; brothers, Roscoe (Faith); Fred (Nancy), all of Riverview, N.B.; grandchildren, Daniel, Evan, Kyle, Jenna, Keera. He was predeceased by a son, John Paul; a brother, Murray. Visitation 12-2 p.m. on Friday [November 3, 2017] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, where funeral service will follow at 2 p.m., Deacon Howie Goldstein officiating. Burial in St. Brigid’s Catholic Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Canada.
