Fred A. Williamson
1946 - 2018

Williamson, Fred A. – Age 71, of Calgary and formerly of Springhill passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at the Foothills Medical Centre, Calgary. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Fred and Hazel (Ripley) Williamson. Fred graduated from Springhill High School and Acadia University with a MSc and spent his career working in the environmental field. He always had a thirst for knowledge. Even in retirement, Fred continued to use every opportunity as a learning experience. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janet (Osmond) Williamson; his daughter, Sarah, Coquitlam, B.C.; a son, Andrew (Jennifer), Calgary; granddaughters, Ayla and Lauren; a niece, Chandra Flewelling; nephews, Dan and Chris Williamson; sister-in-law, Nancy Williamson. He was predeceased by a sister, Christine Flewelling; a brother, Charlie Williamson. A celebration of life memorial service was held in Calgary on May 28, 2018. A graveside committal service will be held at the Fenwick Cemetery at 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 24, 2018. A reception will follow at the Anglican Parish of Christ Church in Amherst to toast and celebrate Fred's life. All are welcome! Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
