D’Souza, Michael – Age 82, of Halifax and formerly of Parrsboro passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Infirmary, QEII Health Centre, Halifax. Born in India, he was a son of the late David and Elvira D’Souza. Michael immigrated to Canada in 1966. He taught school in Bombay India for eight years, Bass River for two, and finally Parrsboro for 25 years. He is survived by daughters, Anne Marie, Elizabeth Juliana, both of Halifax; and Esther Lia Pippy (Mark), St. John’s, Nfld; grandchildren, Juliana and Maria, both of St. John’s; a sister, Monica Nevis, Toronto, Ont. He was predeceased by his wife, Juliana in 2000; sisters, Francina and Philomena; a brother, Donald. Visitation 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service on Monday, September 3, 2018 at 2 pm. in St. Brigid's Catholic Church, Parrsboro, Father Craig Christenson officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Parrsboro Regional High School Scholarship Society, Chalice, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
