Eagles, Clayton E. – Age 91, of Five Islands passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at home surrounded by family. Born in Lower Five Islands, he was a son of the late Hilbert and Iris (Davis) Eagles. He is survived by daughters, Christine Nicoll (Kevin), Halifax; Gina (Clinton), Lower Five Islands; a son, Claytie, Five Islands; sisters, Ruth Power (Roland), Five Islands; Martha Webb, Lower Five Islands; a brother, Aubrey, Lower Five Islands; three grandchildren, William, Katherine and Christopher; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Marie; a sister, Shirley McCallum; brothers, Grant, Mearl, Berton, Kenneth “Billy”, Royden, Morton, Leslie. Visitation 6-8 pm Friday, April 1, 2022 at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral service 2 pm on Saturday, April 2, 2022, Peniel United Church, Five Islands, Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. The family respectfully request that masks be worn during the visitation and for the funeral service. Burial will follow in Peniel United Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses (Colchester Branch) or to Peniel United Church.
