RuthAnn McCully

McCully, RuthAnn - age 80, of Port Greville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre in Amherst, NS. Born in Fraserville, NS, she was the daughter of the late Laurence and Edith (Crossman) Boyde. She was married for almost 60 years to her beloved husband, Gary.   Grammie/Mammie was kind, and generous with an unforgettable warm/comforting personality and determined spirit. She was extremely proud of her family and they meant the world to her. She never failed to go above and beyond for them.   Her favorite color was yellow. She was an avid quilter and was well known for her active cooking, especialy her homemade bread and rolls, in which she always willingly shared with her community, specifically with the local church and the FPW FireHall.   Ruth/Mom loved her puzzle books and enjoyed feeding her hummingbirds. Over the years, she loved country music especially Charlie Pride and Patsy Cline,  while Alan Jackson and George Jones were favorites. She had a green thumb when it came to growing flowers of all kinds. Her favorite flowers have always been peonies and yellow roses.   She is survived by her husband, Gary; her son, Stephen (Megan), Oxford; her daughter, Maxine Bernard (Patrick) in Middle Sackville; her loving grandchildren: Amanda, Sarah, Rebecca,, Sydney, Andrew, Micheala, her great- grandson, Zachary; her younger sister, MaryLou Spicer in Quesnel, BC; a brother Sidney (Pamela) Boyde in Port Greville, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.   She was predeceased by her older sister, Peggy; a younger brother Philip, and her nephew, Laurence. A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundaton of Nova Scotia.
