G. Ronald Gilbert

Gilbert, G. Ronald – Age 85, of Lakelands passed away peacefully on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst with his family by his side. Born in Parrsboro, he was a son of the late J. Maxwell and Ethel L. (Gilbert) Gilbert. Ron enjoyed the outdoors – hunting, four-wheeling and spending time with family. He is survived by his wife, Louise (O’Brien); a son, Robert (Darlene), New Canaan; grandchildren, Joseph Gilbert (Marina), Christina Chown (Robby), Lindsay Fletcher (Alex), Drew Gerrity (Maggie); Zack Gerrity; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Jai-Lynn, Remi, Sophie, Ryan, Ryelee, Peyton, Georgia; sisters, Audrey Heward, North Bay, Ont.; Carolyn O’Hearn (Fred), Lower Five Islands; Diane, Etobicoke, Ont.; Barb, Parrsboro; Cheryl Johnson (Mike), Parrsboro; numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Kendra in 2021; sisters, Jo Anne and Bernice; a brother, Bradford. A graveside committal service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at the Parrsboro Baptist Cemetery, Pastor David Forbes officiating. Reception to follow at the Parrsboro Baptist Church Hall. All are welcome! Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia .
