1943 - 2023
Jeffers, Floyd R. – Age 79, Parrsboro. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his sudden passing on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. Born in Parrsboro, Floyd was the son of the late Roy and Dorothy (Meldrum) Jeffers. Following his retirement after 26 years serving in the Canadian Armed Forces (RCEME), he and Betty returned to Parrsboro. Floyd then started working for the Scott Paper Mill and then to Commercial Safety College, Masstown as a driving instructor. Upon his retirement, Floyd joined the Board of the Crossroads Co-op where he served tirelessly as a board member and president for many years, being instrumental in the construction and renovation of the Crossroads Co-Op we have today. Floyd will be deeply missed by his wife of 59 years, Frances ‘Betty’ (Kay) Jeffers; his daughter, Cindy Guilderson (John), Parrsboro; his son, Timothy Jeffers (Brenda), Fenwick; his grandchildren who adored him, Josh, Halifax; Jonathan, Edmonton; Jake (Amy), Montague, PEI; Alexandria, River Hebert; Bryana, Amherst; great grandchildren, Mailie, Malia, Cohen, Emmett, Emmerson; a sister, Bertha Rector, Advocate Harbour. Floyd was predeceased by sisters, Rosella and Linda in infancy; brothers, Everett, John, George, Lee, Leon, David. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 2 p.m. in Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro, Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Burial to follow in St. George’s Cemetery, Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Adult Day Program at South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro or to St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro.
A heart of gold stopped beating
Working hands at rest
God broke our
