Gibbons, Christopher D. ‘Chicken’ – Age 62, of Parrsboro passed away suddenly on Saturday, April 27, 2024 in Parrsboro. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Wilfred Paris and Betty Keddy. Chris enjoyed many sports, particularly hockey and baseball. He was an avid Boston Bruins and Boston Red Sox fan. Chris will be forever missed as a fixture in Parrsboro, and his slow drives up and down Main Street with the tunes blasting either Billie Jean (Michael Jackson), You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC) or Eminem. He is survived by three sisters, Cindy Bourgeois (David Henry), Springhill; Charlene Rogers, Springhill; Jeannie McCully (Buddy Cormier), Amherst; brothers, Dwight Keddy, Aylesford; Peter Doane (Amy), Bridgewater; special cousin, Shirley Hurley, Lower Five Islands; numerous nieces, nephew and cousins. Chris was a friend to so many over the years, more recently was a great friend of Brandon Davis, Five Islands. He was predeceased by brothers, Timothy Gibbons; Dale Malliet. A ‘Celebration of Life’ for Chris will be held from 2-4 pm on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Parrsboro Fire Hall. All are welcome! Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
