Blenkhorn, L. Rhoda – 74, of 16 Church Street, Parrsboro
died Sunday, May 11, 1997 at Highland View Regional Hospital, Amherst. Born in
Parrsboro, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (McGraw) Phinney. She
is survived by eight daughters, Doreen (Mrs. Merton Kay), Dorothy (Mrs. Ivan
Doiron), Mrs. Carol Ellis, Shane (Mrs. Allan Taylor), Theresa (Mrs. Perry
Colpitts), Rosie (Mrs. Cow Burscough), all of Parrsboro; Jacque (Mrs. David
Crossman), Mississauga; Lyna (Mrs. George Gallagher), Erin, Ont; three sons,
Richard, Grand Bay, NB; Standford, Rory, both of Parrsboro; two sisters, Marg
(Mrs. Roy Winters), Mrs. Cecilia (Midge) Parker, both of Parrsboro; 23
grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband,
Herbert, Blenkhorn; one brother, Lawrence; one grandchild; two great
grandchildren. Funeral 2 pm Tuesday at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro,
Rev. Robert Richmond officiating. Burial at St. George’s Anglican Cemetery,
Parrsboro. Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of
Nova Scotia or a charity of choice.
