Taggart, Robert L. - 77, of 326 Maple Avenue, Bass River, Colchester County died Friday, January 23, 1998 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Parrsboro, he was the son of the late Hugh and Alice (Curtis) Taggart. He was a merchant seaman and served overseas during World War II with the Royal Canadian Army. He was employed 22 years at the Bass River Chair Factory. He was former Chief of the Bass River Fire Brigade. He is survived by his wife, the former Annie Alexander; one daughter, Lilla Millen, and her husband, Ernie, Bass River; one son, Lloyd, and his wife, Betty, Economy; 2 grandchildren, Jennifer Millen, Lloyd Taggart. Visitation 2-4 p.m. Sunday, funeral 2 p.m. Monday, both at Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Burial in the Bass River Cemetery. Family flowers only; memorial donations may be made to the Victorian Order of Nurses or to a charity of choice.
