Thomas B. McKay
McKay, Thomas Berkley (Bert) - 81, of Advocate Harbour, and formerly of Clayton Park, Halifax died Monday, February 15, 1999 at Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Sambro, he was the son of the late John and May (Cook) McKay. He was a veteran of World War II serving with the RCAF. He later operated a taxi for 27 years. He is survived by his wife, the former Carole Fletcher; four step-daughters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Jan Prsala), Victoria, B.C.; Laura (Mrs. Baruck Wile), Masstown; Mrs. Linda (Ayer) Wilson, Dartmouth; Janet (Mrs. Byron Feener), Brantford, Ont.; one step-son, Stephen Ayer, Richmond B.C.; four sisters, Mrs. Jean Leard, Summerside, PEI; Mrs. Florence Comeau, Halifax; Mrs. Dorothy Leard, Niagra Falls; Patricia (Mrs. Edward Mahoney), Halifax; one brother, Donald McKay, Darthmouth; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Paul. Visitation 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Advocate United Church where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Dan Gunn officiating. Burial to follow in the Advocate Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association or the Advocate United Church. |
